Black Smith Workshop Childhood 'round 2000
The quintet differs from the traditional set-up of a mainstream group even in its range of instruments (trumpet, saxophone, trombone, double-bass, drums). Due to the special arrangements, the listener doesn't feel the lack of the piano or other harmony-instruments.They have found a way of performing that provides both the soloists and the accompanists with a lot of freedom and creativity.
“Think of Kodály, Bartók - and early ragtime & jazz pioneers - totally unsung of this soulfull country's jazz history.”
Joe Murányi
